I haven’t looked at this case in a while, so I probably should do that again. From what I can remember from previously, when I tested reading keyboard output with the IOKit library in MacOS, it’s indeed true that the keyboard doesn’t output anything for the FN toggle key. However, in order for the O... (more) |

Question | — |
Auto-enable FN-toggling for the first N FN keys How can I auto-enable FN-toggling for the first N FN keys? F7-F12 on my keyboard are used for audio control, while, many games that I play, use the lower FN keys. Therefore, I'd like to relieve myself of the need to hold down the FN key for F1-F6. In other words, I'd like to change the default FN key... (more) |

Are you able to elaborate and give examples about distributions like Arch requiring users to do programming?
I just moved to Linux, and for some reason decided that PopOS was the right choice, although I was also considering Arch. Apparently, by your words, that was a mistake. I have had some rea... (more) |

Install with:
`sudo apt install lm-sensors`
Run with:
`sensors`
As a beginner, I assumed this tool to be a part of the standard OS installation. I spent a while figuring out it's not, that there's no existing command to run it, that it's nowhere on the filesystem, and that it has to be installe... (more) |

Question | — |
Show GPU usage in System Monitor In PopOS's standard System Monitor application, how do I see the GPU usage? I can see the CPU, RAM, disk and network usage, and graphs for them, but GPU usage is listed nowhere. It's available in MacOS and Windows with similar hardware (MSI Nvidia 4080S on Linux), so it should be available for monito... (more) |

Question | — |
Control desktop fan speeds How do I control my computer's fan speeds, including the case fans, and the CPU pump and fan speed? Moving from Windows on an Acer laptop, I am used to Acer's PredatorSense application which lets me set a standard, full or custom speed for the CPU and GPU fans, as well as enabling a mode that tha... I've intentionally left out hardware details in the hope that it's not necessary to answer the question. I am also not sure about the scope of the question. Maybe it should be split up. I'm imagining there are multiple ways to monitor them, either in the terminal, from some extension to the DE, from ... (more) |

Question | — |
Monitor computer temperatures How do I read computer temperatures from my desktop in PopOS? Is there a terminal command, DE extension or GUI application that I can use for the purpose? The UEFI reports CPU, CPU case and motherboard temperatures, although not the GPU temperature. I'd like to see all these from the desktop, such th... (more) |

Question | — |
Enable multiplayer for Titanfall 2 from EA Games with Lutris I have installed the Flatpak version of Lutris from PopShop in PopOS. From within Lutris, I have installed the EA App, which I have then used to download several games from my library. Unfortunately, when starting up Titanfall 2 from inside the EA App, multiplayer is unavailable. Singleplayer runs fi... (more) |

Question | — |
Keep OpenRGB profiles active after hibernation and shutdown I have created a set of profiles in OpenRGB that set the RGB lights on the fans and LED strips inside my desktop case. This works as expected, however, the activation of a profile does not persist from session to session, that is, after the computer has been shut down, or simply gone to hibernation. ... (more) |

Answer | — |
A: Stop Lutris from changing the screen scaling It seems as if it may not have been Lutris causing issues, but the HiDPI daemon in PopOS. This daemon can be disabled in the PopOS settings under "screens". Disabling that process may lead to issues in multi-monitor setups. Unfortunately, in a 150% (fractional) scaling, the EA app will render 1:1... (more) |

Question | — |
Stop Lutris from changing the screen scaling Every time I open EA Games from within Lutris, the desktop's UI/screen scaling is reset from 150% to 100%. This is in PopOS running with a 4K resolution on a 4K screen. The resolution is not changed. After Lutris reduces the scaling back to the default, I have to go back to the settings, and set ... I've currently spent far more time figuring out which community I should ask my question in, than actually writing it out. Unfortunately, this split puts an unnecessary burden on question askers, because there is no clear separation between the communities. (more) |
