@#52991 IMHO the "solution" doesn't belong to the question ;-)
So I used the "react" button and gave in to the pop-up invitation to post a comment (after [your comment](https://linux.codidact.com/comments/thread/8026#comment-20913) I realised that this was a mistake because my comment gives the im... (more) |

The keyboard layout is correctly changed everywhere: terminal/console and in log in screen (it was not the case with changing the GNOME Settings panel GUI, [see this comment](https://linux.codidact.com/comments/thread/8025#comment-20886)) and it is persistent after reboot.
I used exactly what was ... (more) |

OMG I absolutely didn't think to look in the settings... Thanks!
This solution is quite satisfactory (i.e. the AZERTY layout is correctly set) but I just wanted to clarify that, in my case, in the login screen, when asked for the session user password, the keyboard is still set to QWERTY (it doesn... (more) |

Question | — |
How to change the keyboard layout with Gnome and Arch linux? My goal is to use a french AZERTY keyboard layout with Arch linux and Gnome desktop environment but use US English as "OS language". Note that I am also open to a "working" solution on any other desktop environment than Gnome as long as I can run a GUI web browser with it. Attempts During th... (more) |

Yes you're right. I was a bit not comfortable with this question because I think that `mysql-server` is not available in the Debian package distribution but I'm not sure (because I'm quite a newbie on Debian and Unix systems in general). I edited the question after your comment, please tell me if you... (more) |

I don't know (I know nothing about databases in general) but I would be glad to know the answer ;). I just wanted to follow [this workflow](https://collab.codidact.org/posts/280451/280452#answer-280452) in order to install my own instance of QPixel on Debian. I switched to MariaDB for the moment but ... (more) |

Question | — |
How to install mysql-server on Debian? With Debian 12, it seems that `mysql-server` is not available in the "default" package distribution and thus, cannot be installed with `sudo apt install mysql-server` or `sudo apt-get...` (I know that `mariadb-server` can be installed with these methods). Is there a way to install `mysql-server` o... (more) |

The start "failed" with this command... I had to remove completely mariadb-server and follow [this workflow](https://stackoverflow.com/a/65695694/18251410): create `/etc/mysql/my.cnf` and`/etc/mysql/debian-start` files with default contents and then `sudo chmod 755 /etc/mysql/debian-start`. Now it wo... (more) |

Question | — |
How to start MariaDB (or MySQL) server on a WSL using systemctl? When I try to start MariaDB server (same problem with MySQL) on a fresh Debian 11 install in a Windows Subsystem Linux (WSL) I got the following error: ``` $ sudo systemctl start mariadb System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1). Can't operate. Failed to connect to bus: Hos... (more) |
