It translates all unprintable characters into escape sequences like `\^C` or (for characters above 128) `\M-A`. A: How to type letters for non Latin alphabets? We're using KDE, and it supports switching between different keyboard layouts. You can add more layouts (and change the shortcut to switch between them if you like) in the settings. Stuff like Japanese is a little trickier. That needs an IME, "input method editor". "technically json is already valid yaml"... the YAML people SAY that, but can you actually do that? I think we tried it once and it failed miserably.
