It seems as if there's an issue with the DBus connection. It's likely a bug in the software, so the solution for now is a workaround. When the application is restarted in Lutris, it leaves a background process running, which means the whole application is not actually restarted, which results in the issue persisting. 

In either order, do:
1. Open _System Monitor_, and navigate to:
`systemd/gnome-shell/bwrap/bwrap/python3/lutris-wrapper: EA App` and kill the process. If it's not the EA App, the path should be the same except for the final part. Killing any of these two `bwrap` or `python3` processes is also fine.
2. Close the Lutris window.

Simply start Lutris and the application like normally, and the issue should be gone.
