Problem

I can rotate output, but it does not fill screen. Instead it rotates in place so that the right side of the screen goes off the monitor.

xrandr --output HDMI-2 --auto --mode 1920x1080 --rotate left --same-as eDP-1

Tried

I've tried 1080x1920 but it errors as not a mode. I've tried without --mode.

xrandr -o left works perfectly on my laptop display.

Question

How do I rotate left and have the contents fill the screen.
