Keep OpenRGB profiles active after hibernation and shutdown

+2
−0

I have created a set of profiles in OpenRGB that set the RGB lights on the fans and LED strips inside my desktop case. This works as expected, however, the activation of a profile does not persist from session to session, that is, after the computer has been shut down, or simply gone to hibernation.

How do I ensure the currently activated profile remains active at all times, both after startup, and after awakening the computer?

OpenRGB has a settings tab inside the application with options such as "Start At Login" and "Load Profile". These seem to not have any effect whatsoever.

It appears to be a known issue from the OpenRGB Gitlab Issues: https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/issues/?sort=created_date&state=opened&search=hibernate&first_page_size=20

This isn't the problem in full, because OpenRGB doesn't start by itself at all, after bootup or hibernation. After hibernation, OpenRGB continues running in the userspace, with the window open, but it doesn't start the profile again, which was reset because the computer turned off in the meantime. Guess I've gotten into the habit of just always starting up OpenRGB manually, selecting the profile, then click "load profile" 3 times, after the computer is booted up or awaken.
